After 10 successful years The Enfield Rendezvous & Poker Run, Sacred Summits (P) ltd is now ready to reach its milestone and organize the grand 11th Edition of the Enfield Rendezvous & Poker Run to Pokhara from 12th April to 14th April, 2020 to celebrate the Nepali New Year 2077 BS in style.

 With a modest participation of 22 persons in the first in 2009, the Enfield Rendezvous & Poker Run has become the most talked about Motorcycling event of Nepal spreading through 9 years of hard work and dedication and participated by National and International Motorcycle riders,  CHARLIE BEAR a teddy bear from Arizona, USA, Ms. Lia Grimanis holder of two world records for Heaviest Vehicle Pulled 100 ft. (17,820 lbs) and Heaviest Vehicle Pulled in High Heels (14,520 lbs) as well as Royal Enfield Clubs from Australia, Germany, India and Nepal.

Having been featured in all major dailies, magazines, TV channels of Nepal, Facebook, Instagram, twitter as well as whatsapp, The Enfield Rendezvous & Poker Run had gained its name and fame worldwide and has become an iconic and the most talked about motorcycling event of Nepal.

Enthusiasm is exceptionally high for the GRAND 10th EDITION and we are expecting 300 + participants.  The ROYAL ENFIELD RIDERS and CLASSIC BIKE OWNERS  from Biratnagar, Birganj, Chitwan, Dharan, Hetaudah, Kathmandu and Pokhara, local Expats, travelling tourists and interested bike riders from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, UK and the USA is participating in the event. With its popularity soaring with the Motorcycling community from the Indian subcontinent, enthusiastic riders from Aizwal, Alipore Doars, Allahabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Shillong, Guwahati and, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Siliguri are coming in large numbers.

With over 300+ riders and growing every year, this is truly the biggest riding fest in Nepal.

Besides trying a hand at “Poker”, this event also provides an opportunity to show off one’s motorcycle and vie for the prize for the Best Enfield (Original Design) and the Best Customized Enfield Motorcycle. There will also be a prize for the “Best Supporting Woman Rider”, the Longest Distance Rider (a rider who has travelled the longest distance to participate in this event), Senior Citizen’s award for the oldest participating rider as well as a “Hard Luck Award” for the motorcycle that has the most breakdowns.

As in the past, The Enfield Rendezvous & Poker Run 2018 will also feature a Charity and partnering with MILLENIUM PUBLICATION, Hattiban, we will be distributing stationary, painting books, paint / crayons/ color pencils and sporting materials and equipment  for 50 school going children from underprivileged ethnic backgrounds in Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 1: Siliguri to Kathmandu: (1400m/ 12hrs/500kms)
At the crack of dawn (5:30 AM) we ride out from Siliguri and head towards the Nepal border of Kakkarvitta which is 45kms away. Cross the border and complete immigration formalities of the vehicle (please carry original documents). Reset your watches to +5:45hrs (+15mins to IST). Drive whole day crossing the Koshi barrage where you can savour some local fish. From there drive on the plains till Bardibas. You should arrive Bardibas around lunch time, From Bardibas drive north into the hills. Drive through the winding roads for another 6hrs to reach Kathmandu. Upon arrival check into the hotel and proceed for dinner.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing: After breakfast board an awaiting vehicle and drive to Pashupatinath temple, after visiting the temple drive to Bhaktapur where once can witness local Newari cuisine and architecture. Bhaktapur is a world UNESCO heritage site. After arriving back from Bhaktapur, free for the evening.

Day 3: Poker Run Day 1: (850m/ 8hrs/200kms): Wake up in the morning and drive to the meeting point by 7:30 AM. Ride/drive with the other participants of the event. First stop will be at Simle (~40kms). Lunch will be at 100kms at Mugling and another stop will be at Akala Highway (~170kms). The final stop will be at Hotel Pokhara Grande (~200kms) where you will check in to your room and come to the venue for BBQ, Dinner and Music & Dance to ring in the Nepali New Year.

Day 4: Poker Run Day 2 Charity Ride/ Free Day: After breakfast you can participate in the charity ride where we go to a local government school and distribute stationary and sports items. Else you can also roam around Pokhara participating in different sightseeing and adventure activities. In the evening assemble back the hotel to participate in the closing ceremony of the event followed by snacks, dinner and music & dance.

Day 5: Pokhara to Chitwan (415m/ 4hrs/ 150kms): After breakfast, Poker Run ends after which drive towards Chitwan. On arrival check in to the hotel and participate in Jungle activities and Tharu cultural dance in the evening

Day 6: Jungle activities continues in Chitwan with jungle safari and elephant bathing

Day 7: Chitwan to Siliguri (140m/ 12hr/ 500kms): After a really early breakfast, drive back home towards Siliguri. Complete the border formalities at Kakkarvitta and enter into India.
